Yes, you read that correctly, and, no, it’s not part of some greater dominatrix fantasy or an employment application as a hit-man. I want you to tell me what to photograph! Submit your suggestions and concepts for a single image you would like to see captured, and I will select a winning idea, photograph it (obviously), and mail the winning-idea-thinker-person a free 8×10 print of the final product (as well as share it with the rest of you)!
Live vicariously through my camera (yeah, last time I tried that I sent it bungee jumping), and let the ideas flow!

With all the stupidity we see around us, celebrities being photographed san makeup without ripping somebody’s head off, and the fact that we apparently have found some guy not only willing to admit having sex with Snookie but claiming to be the father of her child, this world is surely coming to an end.
Emily has proven to be a lot of fun to work with, and that was no more true than during a recent shoot when she decided to break out her beloved gas mask and start posing as a sexy, post-apocalyptic survivor. A little tweaking, accompanied by boredom at 2:00 in the morning, and we have a true vision of what lies in store this year.
- Dear InDesign, I’m not sure whether I hate you or the person who originally designed this file. So, I’m putting equal blame on both.

“It’s easy to ignore others,” Chris Arnade, a New York City photographer currently working on a project entitled “Faces of Addiction,” says of life in the metropolis. “By not looking, by not talking to them, we often fall into constructing our own narrative that affirms our limited world view. What I am hoping to do, by allowing my subjects to share their dreams and burdens with the viewer and by photographing them with respect, is to show that everyone, regardless of their station in life, is as valid as anyone else.”
As Chris puts it, “I post people’s stories as they tell them to me. I am not a journalist, I don’t try to verify, just listen.”
I love what Chris is doing, his concept behind the project, and the message he is sharing with those who encounter his work.
Vanessa: Hunts Point, Bronx
Vanessa, thirty-five, had three children with an abusive husband. She “lost her mind, started doing heroin,” after losing the children, who were taken away and given to her mother. The drugs led to homelessness and prostitution. She grew up on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, but now spends her time in Hunts Point, “trying to survive everyday. Just doing whatever it takes.”
She was standing on the cold street corner looking for business, wearing only flip flops and smoking with her two friends. When I asked her how she wanted to be described, Mary Alice jumped in and said “She’s the sweetest woman I know. She will give you the shirt off her back, if she has one on.”

Meet Noah — friend, humorist, and second counterpart from my previously-posted shoot with Emily Young. Shortly moving to Los Angeles himself, armed with his eligibility to join the Screen Actors Guild, Noah was in need of some studio shots for Hollywood headhunters. We, along with Emily, had a great time, shot some great images, and came away better (if not slightly-more-twisted) people in the end. More photos after the jump »
