Thinking Inside the Box: DIY Softbox from Styrofoam Cooler

Day 323/365 setupCreative professionals are continually pressured to “think outside the box” in order to push the limits of their creativity. But, sometimes, it’s thinking inside the box (pun intended) that produces some great results.

Photographer Murry McMaster created a very simple softbox with nothing more than a styrofoam cooler, and the results are fairly impressive. While I haven’t tried this personally, although I would really like to…when I get some time, I would highly recommend it for any of you other do-it-yourself-ers out there. After all, it’s not like you would be investing a fortune in materials. Pick one up at your local department or hardware store, or simply hang around the drunken tailgaters at your local college football stadium.
