Lehigh at Dusk – Photographing Pennsylvania’s Natural Beauty

I am not a landscape photographer, but I finally had a chance to stop down by the Lehigh River on this time through the quaint little hamlet of Jim Thorpe, PA. It was beautiful and sunny the entire drive out, but once I started coming off the mountain it became densely cloudy and the fog had begun rolling in. Which, all together, made for a good photo.

Looking down at the river from the top of the gorge, it doesn’t appear that impressive, especially for all the whitewater tourism the town receives. But, being down at the water’s edge, seeing the current and the several-foot swells, I really wanted to take a kayak down through.
