I dug this out of my archive while continuing to work on further organizing my image library in Lightroom.

The Setup

This is a very simple (and cheap) DIY lighting setup that I executed in our living room near the front door entrance. Using my daughter as a model, I placed her in front of the wall and positioned a Vivitar 283 on the floor pointing up at the wall to provide some separation light. I then shot a Promaster 7000m at full power through my DIY diffusion panel at about 45 degrees to subject on camera left.

We had a lot of fun that evening, and the results weren’t bad for the $5 I invested (not counting flash units and triggers).
