I was born into a humble yet well-educated home, and from my earliest memories could dream of nothing greater than one day ruling the world, gathering all nations in unified harmony under my benevolent, albeit dictatorial, regime. But, as anyone who has suffered a dream-crushing blow, standing idly by while their hopes and aspirations crumble in a pile of refuse at their feet, one can imagine my dismay when I discovered that I did not possess the credentials for anti-Christ. The emotional struggle that ensued bears great resemblance to a young man dreaming of one day being president of the United States only to realize that he is but a poor, Nigerian farm boy born to internet-scamming parents; or a promiscuous sorority sister, dying to get her party on, who promises to bring the booze for this weekend’s mayhem only to have her fake ID rejected at the liquor store. No, I was unqualified and out of luck. So, I fell back on what I knew…

Creativity and the arts have always been a passion of mine, and photography, in particular, was always my primary interest. Being introduced to the craft by my father, I was anxious to get my first camera and begin shooting away. My first camera was a bright yellow 35mm manual-wind point-and-shoot with a hot shoe mount that I somehow managed to use with an external flash. The setup was quite comical and turned out some very poor images, but it was my camera nonetheless.

Over the years I upgraded to rangefinders and SLRs, but it wasn’t until the digital age took the world by storm that I finally made the serious step into the world of photography.

I love to break away from a number of the traditional elements of photography, both from a creative and business perspective. My preferred themes to capture are the human element and irony, using the medium of photography to communicate a particular message or emotion.
