Today’s Creative Marketing Gem

Posted by Allen Mowery On March - 20 - 2009

I am a huge fan of creative marketing, something that captures the audience’s attention either through humor or profundity. I mean, I was just discussing today with a local marketing exec that the only reason I have ever watched a Super Bowl was for the commercials. And she agreed that they are by far the most creative out of the entire year.

I do not know where or when this commercial was aired, but I laughed like a hyena when I came across it on YouTube this evening. It is promoting AccuServ, a repair company in Mission, KS.

And so, without further adieu, I bring you today’s Creative Marketing Gem!

Pregnant Again!

Posted by Allen Mowery On March - 15 - 2009

Pregnant Again! No, I am not pregnant (thank God; that’d just be weird), but my wife and I are anticipating the arrival of our second little miracle. Our first child, Kylie was born on October 7, 2006. Since then our lives have been greatly enriched by her presence. And not that Kylie “wasn’t enough” for us, but we thought it might be nice to provide her with a little playmate all her own.

So Alyse and I are excited about having another child and Kylie is totally psyched about getting what she refers to as “Ky-ee’s ba’by.” We haven’t really approach the whole “birds and the bees” conversation yet, but we have tried to tell her that the baby “is in Mommy’s belly.” Of course Kylie, being the sometimes self-centered child that she is, corrects us and says, “No! Ba’by in Ky-ee’s bellwy!” and struts around the house pushing her stomach out as far as it will go. She will even go so far as to shove her baby dolls up the front of her clothing, then push them out the bottom while saying “Ba’by got born!” Don’t ask me where she got that from. Ah, good times….

I’ll be sure to keep you posted on the progress of things, and I’m even trying to convince Alyse to let me do a live webcast of the birth. But she’s being rather obstinate on that one. Women….
